“A charming base for exploring Old Nice”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

I really enjoyed my stay in this apartment. Booking was very easy, and picking up the keys at the airport was a breeze. Yes, you have to go up five flights of stairs (and unless you're in amazing shape, you will feel it!) -- and yes, it really isn't fun to do that with heavy suitcases -- but just think of it as a way to balance out the cream sauce and wine you'll be consuming during your trip. I didn't gain an ounce in 10 days of fairly decadent dining, and I have those stairs to thank for it!

The apartment has everything you need. I opted not to cook, so the only utensil I used was the corkscrew, but the kitchen is well stocked. Everything is clean. The view from the balcony is charming -- you can see the rooftops of Old Nice and the hills in the background. When I ate in, I ate on the balcony (OK, let's be honest: I spent a lot of time sipping wine on the balcony). The washing machine took a bit of figuring out, but eventually I got it working (some instructions here would be helpful!). I always have trouble with washing machines in other countries for some reason!

One thing to be aware of (besides the stairs): Your taxi will not drive you to the door. It will drop you off at the edge of the old quarter and you'll have to fend for yourself on foot from there. It is a bit of a maze, and not exactly a picnic when one is lugging suitcases. However, the lack of cars in the neighborhood means less street noise. I was awakened several times during my stay by noise from the nightclub downstairs, but the listing now mentions double-glazed windows, so that might not be a problem any longer.

The location can't be beaten if you're able to walk and like to explore on foot. It's not a very long walk to the buses or the tram. There are countless restaurants and bars within several blocks. It's very easy to feel like part of the neighborhood. Enjoy your stay -- I did!

“A wonderful apartment in the heart of old Nice!”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

This was the second stay in 5 rue Rossetti and hopefully there will be many more.

I think that perhaps people are probably discouraged from renting this apartment by the prospect of it being on the 5th floor...with no lift and its position in the heart of the bustling old town. PLEASE DON'T BE!! Its position is perfect. Being on the 5th floor means that the noise from the street below is not intrusive. The property has excellent double glazing so that night time noise is obliterated, and simply I love the fact that you can sit on the balcony and eat surrounded by the jazz and bustle wafted from the street below. Regarding the stairs...they are a struggle when getting cases up initially, but after that should be treated as a trip to the gym. Great for leg toning!

5 rue Rossetti is a studio apartment, but still quite spacious. It is housed at the top of an ancient ex-monastery. A fascinating building, especially if you have always wondered what went on behind those typical French double street doors you see so often.

The furniture is good and modern, and the sofa in the photos has now been replaced with a new one. The air conditioning is excellent and quiet. There is a small kitchen with everything you need for simple meals and there is also a washing machine if required. The bathroom is clean, with a very good shower. There are two full height double glazed doors leading to the balcony is excellent for outside eating. The apartment has Freesat television so that all of the main UK and French channels are available and also a CD/radio for music. There is a selection of VHS tapes but the DVD collection is lacking...I may be contributing to this next year from ours, but it is worth taking some of your own if you are film fan! The internet access is good and pretty fast - which as a freelance is something I always have to consider when away from home.

Paul and Merilyn are helpful and very responsive. They run a great operation and you can book without worries. Overall this is an excellent, clean, well maintained apartment in the perfect position, surrounded by cafes, bars, restaurants and all of those sights the guide books recommend. Plus... metres from the front door is the renowned Fenocchio's ice cream parlour. 100+ flavours of Nice's best can only be a bonus! We will be back next year!

“A home away from home...!”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

Booking through Go-Nice was incredibly easy and the quick responses and helpfulnes from the office staff made one feel very safe and comfortable right away.
This was only emphasized when arriving at the lovely flat, which - we thought - was even cosier than the webpage-photos had revealed. A very pleasant location in the center of the old city with a magnificent view across the roofs of the old city and the hillsides ( mountains for a Dane...)further away.
The flat really felt like "a home away from home", it even had a hot water bottle ( we were there in November, chilly nights) and a yoga mattres!
This, plus the extensive "Arrival info" & Guestbook, all added to making us feel very welcome.
We fell so much in love with the flat that we couldn't resist buying plants for the balcony even though we were only there for a short stay.
In the summertime I imagine it could be noisy with the bars in the street, and of course one has to be willing to face the 5 flights of stairs, but the wonderful view from the balcony and cosy feel of the flat made up for it !
We would certainly come back again, - we really felt part of Old Nice while staying at this location.

“Loved the studio, will return!”

The studio was great, although the climb to the fifth floor is the only negative it was well worth it for the fab views and atmosphere on the balcony. Well equipped and very clean and quiet considering central location. Very easy pick up of keys at airport. Denise

“Fantastic Holiday!”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

Just back from a fantastic week in Nice. The apartment suited our needs perfectly. 5 minutes walk from the beach, 5 minutes from the bus station. The apartment was well equipped for a self-catering holiday, especialy the washing machine (we only brought carry-on luggage), plenty of cutlery and utensils. Loved the street it was on, very central, but not noisy.
Only negatives I can say are: the stairs....not easy after a day on the beach!!
Directions to the apartment were perfect, we found it no bother.
All in all, a brilliant holiday and a great apartment. Will be back next year.

“A gem in the Old Town”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

Fantastic place for a couple to stay - providing you don't mind a hike up many flights of characterful stairs.

Key pick up at airport was seemless and good clear communication and instructions before hand.

Bang in the heart of the Old Town, all the atmosphere, well located for the bus station for all coastal and airport routes, 5 mins to beach through the famous market, couldn't fault the flat for location.

And inside it is big for a studio, well appointed, comfortable bed, and fab quiet aircon. Small but very functional bathroom and shower. Kitchen has just what you need providing you don't plan to cook a lot. Plus the bonus of Sky TV (very limited package though), DVD player and stereo system and free wireless broadband.

Loved the place and may very well go back. Would recommend.

“Excellent situation, facilities and overall experience”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

Overall my partner and I had an excellent experience staying in this studio apartment. Keys were ready for collection at the airport as expected, complete with good instructions to our home for the week. On finding the apartment - we could not believe how amazing the location was and when we finally climbed the 103 steps (we counted) and opened the apartment door we knew we had made a good choice. Facilities within the apartment were great and it was spotlessly clean!
if we return to Nice we would definately try to rent the apartment again,
I would recommend this apartment to anyone, especially couples

“Old town niece”
Posted on: 16/02/2016

We enjoyed our week in niece staying in old town. The apartment was just what we were looking for. Reasonable rate, clean, neat and close to the action of niece: Markets, museum, transportation. The only drawback for older people especially was the 5 floors, Once we got used to it, no problem. Would stay there again. sincerely, Maurice Singer

Cosy retreat in the heart of Nice old town
Posted on: 03/02/2016

We returned to Rue Rossetti for our second visit to this cosy little apartment at the top of an old monastery building just off Place Rossetti. The 103 steps up to the apartment were great exercise to help work off all the scrumptious food we ate while in Nice. Everything we needed was provided and we will certainly be back!

Fantastic Apartment in the Old town Nice

onderful space, bright, tiled floor, covered private balcony, all amenities were great, Nice coffee pod machine, internet ( LAN/Wireless), washing machine, aircon - everything was great

Easy dealing with the Go-Nice people; key pickup and departure were easy, good information, attention to detail - very reassuring.

Lovely summer evenings sitting on the balcony in watching the sunset.

Would have stayed longer; I really enjoyed my time in Nice,

I'll be back here next time I'm in Nice, great apartment

It was very very nice in Nice.

We spent a wonderful weekend at Nice. We found the apartment as described, it had all we needed and the location was just perfect although it was quite loud during nighttime because of the party folk outside.

A gem of a hideaway in x Nice
Posted on: 03/02/2016

Right in the heart of the old town. Small but perfectly formed. We even enjoyed trotting up the 100 steps!

Loved the little balcony. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect apartement for 2 persons.
Posted on: 03/02/2016

A perfect bright apartement with a large bed and good kitchen equipmet. You had to step carefully inside the apartement because of the bad isolation generally in this old buildings, but that didn`t matter. Many stair steps to reach the apartement, but you get a good exercise and this feels good after the end of a week stay. A nice little balcony to see sun rise and sun set. Good location in the old town, near the most facilities and even to the beach where you could play beachvolleyball in low and high level.

for beachvolleyball.

This is a lovely apaprment in a GREAT location. It does state that it is on the 5th floor, but be aware it's 103 steps and not for the unfit!

This apartment was great for the type of holiday we wanted. and the Ice Cream shop downstairs in the Square is the best. It was clean and just enough room for the 2 of us. Although when sitting on the toilet you have to sit slightly sideways or your knees hit the wall (I'm only 5ft3).

Over all it was a lovely apartment and good for young couples!

I've tried to stay in one of these Rentals apartments in the past but without success. What a pity. The company is one which I would use again. The property was accurately described and a pleasure to stay in. Customer service was excellent offering the facility to pay by credit/ debit card making payment really easy. Key collection was first rate from the airport. We were fortunate that we could stay on until 7pm on our last day, again arranged with Paul who has gone out of his way to help throughout the whole process. I will stay in this or one of the other apartments in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending this to friends. The apartment is surrounded by all the entertainment / restaurants you could need and a stone's throw from the bus station.
